michelle kosinski is at the court in pretoria. good morning. >> reporter: carl, after more than an hour and a half of the judge's ruling leading up to that point we finally do know he will be granted bail. that's not a big surprise to a lot of people because of the way the system works here, but the judge made it seem so. you really couldn't tell throughout his ruling which way this was going to go. first he spelled out pretty much every element of evidence that was presented and disputed then by the defense. that was something we expected him to do. that's just part of the process, part of the law. then the judge started getting into his own opinions about what was presented. he criticized the state's case saying some of the evidence they presented was merely circumstantial, some of it through the chief police detective was just wrong. he said not all of the work was done that should have been done. but then he said, still that does not mean that that was the state's case, that the state's case could still be much stronger. then
